
On February 8, 1910, the Boy Scouts of America came into existance. On February 8, 2010, we celebrated 100 years of Scouting in America.
Each council has come up with their own unique ways to mark this occasion. Over two years ago, leaders from our council came together and brainstormed over 200 great ideas and ways to commemorate this first century of Scouting and launch into the next century.
Those ideas were discussed and analyzed, based upon suggested criteria from the national council. An "impact gauge" was created to help filter out the best ideas. Eventually, the council board of directors identified five ways for our council to celebrate the centennial:
