Scouting in the Family

 

For 2009, our focus, "Be Prepared, For Life" provides Scouts a program that will enhance leadership, life skills, and a sense of community while building life-long friendships!

Recent studies confirm the impact of Scouting.
Men who were Scouts for five or more years are more likely than men with no Scouting experience to:

• Graduate from high school (91% vs. 87%)
• Graduate from college (35% vs. 19%)
• Earn higher annual household incomes ($80,000 vs. $61,000)
• Value family relationships highly (81% vs. 72%)
• Hold lifelong friendships (89% vs. 74%)
• Attend religious services (87% vs. 77%)
• Believe helping others should come before one's self-interest (92% vs. 83%)

In addition, more than eight out of 10 men who were Scouts say Scouting helped them be a better leader in real-life situations.

Scouting provides youth and their famiiles an opportunity to grow individually and grow together.
