The Districts

The Santa Clara County Council is currently divided into four geographical areas, known as districts. These districts serve the youth programs of Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting and Venture Scouting. In addition, two divisions serve the entire Council Learning for LIfe and Scoutreach.

Each district has a "Key Three" comprising of the District Chairman, the District Commissioner, and the District Executive. The Chairman and Commissioner are volunteer positions while the District Executive is the only professional (paid & full time) individual working within the district.

Directly assisting the District Chairman is a District Committee comprised of volunteers responsible for finance, membership, activities and training.

Directly assisting the District Commisioner is the Commissioner Staff comprised of volunteers responsible for the "health" of the Scouting units.

All work in a cohesive manner to promote and support Scouting within their geographical areas.  All of our districts and the Council met the criteria for the Centennial Quality Award in 2007.  Click here details.
