The Council Training Committee wants to ensure that all parents, adult leaders and youth leaders recognize the purpose of their leadership role and understand how to achieve it in a progressive and fun-filled atmosphere. It is a proven fact that Scouts with well-trained leaders have more fun, stay in the program longer and advance further. Click here for a list of what courses are required for a leader to be considered trained.
Training is available to parents and adult leaders at the Unit (Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, Ship), District, Council, Regional and National levels. The progressive training begins with Fast Start and continues with Basic Adult Leader Training. These courses are a “must” for all adult leaders, and they provide valuable insight for parents. Experienced adult leaders who change positions are considered “trained” only after they have taken the course(s) specific to their new position.
We offer Supplemental Training and Advanced Adult and Youth Training throughout the year.
Are you already trained? Tell us about yourself with our PDF survey. It can be e-mailed or printed and brought into the Council Service Center
