2 October 2010
Sports Basement: 1177 Kern. Ave, Sunnyvale.
This clinic offers training in outdoor skills to Scouts, Varsity, and Venturing Adult Leaders plus senior youths with instruction in proven techniques that promote health and safety in the backcountry. We present how to conduct efficient and enjoyable short and long term wilderness hiking and camping with proper use of gear and planning (e.g., day treks, overnighters and 50-milers). The course is also open to both adult and senior/cadet youth leaders from Girls Scouts of Northern California.
Unlike past High Adventure Training classes, this has been changed to be a one-day presentation and will focus on entry level aspects of backpacking. Advanced topics in high adventure activities may also be presented if time permits.
Cost is $10 per participant. Details, including topics presented, are provided in the flyer (see right side panel).
