Lodge Laptop Policy

  1. Ownership

A. The laptop shall be owned by Miwok Lodge 439

1. For use by the Lodge Executive Committee.

  1. Responsibility

A. The Lodge Chief will have the responsibility of lending it out.

1. By his discretion it may be lent to committee chairmen.

B. Terms of lending

1. Lodge Chief acknowledges request.

2. Chairman or Vice-Chief acknowledges permission.

3. Witness acknowledges agreement.

C. Responsibility after lending

1. Whomever has been granted permission to use the laptop takes full Responsibility and Liability for Damages.

2. The laptop must be brought to every LEC meeting and Lodge Event, including NOAC, regardless of whether or not the responsible party attends the meeting, event, or NOAC.

3. Arrangements must be made by the responsible party to get the laptop to the meeting if he will not attend.

4. New permissions must be granted at every LEC meeting and any time in between that someone requests to use the laptop.

  1. Priorities

A. First priority to the Records Chairman/Adviser

1. The primary purpose of the Lodge Laptop is for Database work, making labels for committees, and all other records responsibilities.

B. Any other requests if not needed by Records will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

1. Lodge Chief may judge worthiness of use.

2. Lodge Chief must know what purpose it will be used.

  1. Maintenance

A. Software maintenance

1. By those to whom the Lodge Chief has given approval.

2. No programs are to be installed without Lodge Chief's written permission.

B. Hardware maintenance

1. To be voted on by the LEC.

a. Most likely will involve money.

2. Should be arranged with the manufacturer and a quote given at an LEC meeting.
